Routvik ("the app") is a personal fuel, mileage, and running-cost tracker for your vehicles.
The short version: Routvik does not collect your personal data, there is no account, and nothing you log is sent to us.
The only thing that ever leaves your device is an anonymous crash report — described below.
Data you enter stays on your device
Everything you add — vehicles, refuels, odometer readings, costs, notes, photos, and locations — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). The developer does not operate a server that receives or stores this information and cannot access it. Deleting the app removes this data.
Location (optional)
If you grant location access, Routvik suggests a currency based on where you are and records where a fill-up or reading took place so it can show the station or place in your log. This location is stored on your device. To turn coordinates into a readable place name, the app asks Apple's geocoding service (built into iOS) to look them up; this is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. Location access is optional and the app works fully without it.
Camera and photos (optional)
If you use the scan feature, the app uses your camera — or a photo you pick — to read your odometer or the fuel-pump display. This text recognition runs on your device, and the image is used only to read the numbers — it is not saved by the app and never leaves your device.
Crash reports (anonymous)
If the app crashes, it sends an anonymous crash report on the next launch so the problem can be fixed. Reports go to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), a crash-reporting service, and are stored on Sentry's servers in the European Union under Sentry's Privacy Policy. A report contains technical information only: where in the code the crash happened, the app version, the iOS version, the device model, and the app's state at the time — for example which screen was open. The same channel may carry anonymous performance diagnostics, such as how long a screen took to load.
A report never contains anything you logged: no vehicles, plates, refuels, readings, costs, notes, photos, or locations. Your IP address is not stored, no screenshots are taken, and any text an error message might carry is removed on your device before the report is sent. Reports are not linked to you and cannot be used to identify you.
Network use
Routvik connects to the internet only to:
- Currency exchange rates — it downloads a free, public exchange-rate dataset (the open-source
@fawazahmed0/currency-api, served via the jsDelivr CDN). Only currency codes and a date are part of the request; no personal data is sent. - Place names — Apple's geocoding service, as described above.
- Update check — it asks Apple's App Store whether a newer version of Routvik is available. Only the app's identifier and your App Store region are part of the request; no personal data is sent.
- Crash reports — anonymous reports to Sentry, as described above.
The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.
Import and export
You can export your full history as a CSV file and import it back. These files are created and read on your device and are shared only when you choose to share them (for example, to another app or AirDrop).
Children
Routvik does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
